All you need is flour, boiled chicken, onions, ginger, green chillies, soy sauce and a little salt to make delicious chicken momos. Dough is kneaded, which is then rolled into small round shapes. On the other hand, chicken is mixed with all the other ingredients.

Chicken Momos Recipe | How to Make Chicken Momos Recipe

Material:

For dough:

  • 2 cups flour
  • salt to taste
  • 1-1/2 tsp baking powder

for stuffing

  • 1 cup chicken, cooked and finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup green peas, boiled
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp soya sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 1 fresh red chili or green chili
  • 1/4 tbsp crushed whole black pepper

How to make Chicken Momos:

  •  Prepare all the necessary ingredients to make Chicken Momos recipe. Boil and grind the chicken.
  •  Boil peas and keep ready. Grate garlic and ginger or chop them finely.

For dough:

  • Add flour, salt, baking powder and water to a mixing bowl; – And knead a hard dough with water and keep it covered with a wet cloth for about 20 minutes, so that the dough does not dry.

For Chicken Stuffing:

  •  Heat one tablespoon oil in a pan and add chopped green chilies or red chilies, onions, chopped ginger and garlic.
  •  Fry for about 4-5 minutes and add boiled chicken and boiled peas and mix well.
  • Remove from heat and add soy sauce, salt and pepper. Be careful while adding salt as soy sauce also contains salt.
  • Divide the dough into equal pieces. Make small balls out of it and give it a fine round shape.
  • You can also make mommies using a mold, which makes the process even easier.
  •  Take a ball of flour, put a little dry flour in it and roll it thinly. Moisten the edges and place a spoonful of chicken, peas and roasted vegetables in the center, bring the edges together to cover the filling, fold the momos carefully to seal. Repeat the chicken momos process until all the dough and stuffing is used up.
  • Meanwhile, prepare a steamer or Dhokla-Idli steamer and fill some water in it and keep it for boiling. Place the momos on the steamer on trays slightly separated from each other. Steam the momos well for about 15-20 minutes or till they turn glossy.
  • Serve with Chicken Momos Recipe and Chilli Garlic Sauce for evening snack.

Some special tips for making chicken momos:

  • The first rule of making chicken momos is to always keep the edges thin and the center thick. Many people miss this part, which causes the momo to break.
  • You can freeze chicken momos for 20-30 days and boil them for 5 minutes and they are ready to eat.
  • If you do not have a steamer at home, you can always use aluminum foil to steam your momos. Aluminum foil balls can help you create steam in any type of container.
  • If you do not have a steamer at home, you can also pan fry or deep fry your chicken momos.
