  • 1 cup rice
  • 300g chicken, boneless, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves of garlic

  • 2 green chilies
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp red chili
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 bay leaf, cut in half
  • 2 cardamom
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 5 sprigs mint, finely chopped
  • oil as required
  • salt to taste

How to make Chicken Biryani with Coconut Milk at home?

  • To make the Chicken Biryani Recipe, first prepare all the ingredients.
  • In a bowl add chicken, turmeric, coriander powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and curd. Mix well and keep aside for 30 minutes.
  • Put onion, ginger, garlic and green chillies in a mixer grinder. Grind it and keep it aside.
  • Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  • Take 3 tbsp oil in a pressure cooker. Add onion ginger garlic paste and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • After 3 to 4 minutes add bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves. Cook for 20 seconds and add the chicken mixture. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • After 5 to 7 minutes add tomato puree and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Then add coconut milk, mint leaves, rice and 1 cup water.
  • Mix, close the cooker and cook for 3 whistles. Let the pressure release on its own. After the pressure is over, open the cooker and mix it well.
  • Serve Chicken Biryani with Tomato Onion Cucumber Raita or Tadka Raita for dinner.
